Join SouthWestFest for a summer celebration of SW1, starting with an amazing opening weekend featuring the Pimlico Proms on Friday the 29th June with the multi award winning Kew Wind Orchestra and also the award winning Northern California Children’s Choir and local cabaret legend Eve Ferrett.
Saturday the 30th June kicks-off with our Everyvoice Carnival Parade and Festival Day at St.Georges Square including live music, dance and performance, plus fairground rides, Fit Up Circus stage, Live Art with Tate Britain, a city farm, Healthzone, rock climbing wall, family fun activities, graffiti art workshops, crafts, market stalls, food and more.
And the Festival doesn’t stop there, from The Giant Paper Caper colourful giant paper chain made of your people at Tate Britain with Shambush, and Vote 100 Walking Tours discovering the historical landmarks and stories from the Suffrage Movement through to Independence Day Concerts and workshops at St John Smith’s Square there is something for everyone to enjoy.
We also look forward to the return of Pimlico Pop Recordsville at The Cave a tribute to much missed local vinyl mecca Recordsville. Head down to rummage through old vinyl, photographs and haphazard memories of Pimlico’s rich Pop Culture past. Over the fortnight keep an eye out for spontaneous ‘happenings’ featuring local artists performing in the grooviest gallery space since Andy Warhol wound down The Factory. Turn up, hang out, and turn on!
Plus join Festival Poet in Residence Rachel Sambrooks for poetry writing workshops or take the perfect shot in the Everyvoice Photography Masterclass or why try your hand at Flamenco dancing? Whether you’re thinking about new skills or just a fun activity to try, we have something for you.
