Last year 250 local children, young people and adults dressed-up and danced through the streets. This year we aim to make it even bigger and better – with your help.
The Parade starts at 12pm but we will meet a little before to get into position and warm up. When we get closer to the day we will send detailed instructions and the route for the day. Following feedback we have shortened the route so it will take no more than half hour. The parade will end in St George’s Square Gardens, where you will join the Gala Day and can take part in all the fun on offer.
We are inviting schools, youth clubs, children’s services and community groups to take part, get creative and be part of their local community.
SouthWestFest is a volunteer-led charity. Without you – our amazing volunteers, there would be no festival!
There are plenty of different ways you can volunteer with us; as a Trustee or a lead volunteer who helps us with the planning and development of the festival.
As work experience, work placements to gain more practical experience in events and community arts and projects.

Sign up and promote your own event as part of SouthWestFest! Register an event/workshop/activity as part of SouthWestFest. Our festival dates are between the 29th of June and the 15th of July. The festival is open access and we encourage local community groups, organisations, artists, creatives and individuals to host their own events as part of this community celebration.
Register your event and it will be advertised in our brochure which is distributed to over 10,000 homes and people, and on our website, visited by thousands during June and July.
However we do ask that events registered in the brochure are either free or very low cost and we retain the right to not promote events we feel are un-affordable activities.This is because the aim of the festival is to get local community members out into the area to try new activities and learn about groups, services and venues around where they live.
The festival team produces our main outdoor events the Pimlico Proms and the Community Festival Day on the 29th of June and the 30th of July and other events take place as part of the festival in the weeks after.

Each year SouthWestFest hosts around 40 stalls from local charities, community groups, businesses and artists. If you would like to promote your work in the community, your latest business venture or your handmade crafts, SouthWestFest is the perfect opportunity to reach out to local residents. Our annual Festival Day sees average footfall of between 8’000 and 10’000 people and is well promoted in the local area.
