Festival Parade

SW-OneWorld themed Parade

On Saturday 1st of July a pedestrian procession will take to the streets to celebrate the vibrant and creative community of SW1. Last year 250 local children, young people and adults dressed-up and danced through the streets. This year we aim to make it even bigger and better – with your help.

The Parade starts at 12pm but we will meet a little before to get into position and warm up. When we get closer to the day we will send detailed instructions and the route for the day. Following feedback we have shortened the route so it will take no more than half hour. The parade will end in St George’s Square Gardens, where you will join the Gala Day and can take part in all the fun on offer.

What is the theme?

The theme for this year’s children’s parade SW One-World. We want to inspire the next generation to celebrate our multi-cultural community, your parade group could choose to dress as your favourite flag, in a traditional costumer or by dress or style inspired by your favourite countries.

At the end of the Parade there will be a Costume Competition on the main stage, where all taking part will have the opportunity to win great group prizes.

Get involved:

We are inviting schools, youth clubs, children’s services and community groups to take part, get creative and be part of their local community.
